“With friends like these… (part 2)”
Though Session 3 focused primarily on Job’s initial state of mind (ch. 3),the ensuing arguments of Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, and Job’s response to and ultimately his rejection of their arguments, it is important to not lose sight of Job himself, and to now re-examine Job’s state of mind in light of his own developing personal rejections on his situation, and to trave his journey through his circumstances in light of notable changes within Job himself. To do so, we’ll begin by comparing Job’s initial assessment of life (as offered in Job3), with his later reflections in Job 29-31.
